Quantum Drift · how it’s played

The story moves with what you film

Two men built the future and broke with each other over what it was for. Salazar Dolfieni built GITA and got the world to cap autonomous weapons. Alpha Enoch answered with the Angels of Mercy — bought bodies, wired them to SLADE, and moved his nation to the moon. Between them: everyone else.

Some people drifted. Powers here are errors — signs of the sick — and every one of them costs something: your health, your money, or your years. Nobody flies for free.

You play a character in that world. Their missions are real missions, their wounds carry over, and what they do on camera becomes part of the record. This is a game played in short films.

The loop

Six steps, then repeat

  1. 01Or just drop inOne free mission a day, either side — no character, no dice, no points. Fanfare, for the love of it. Nothing accumulates in free mode; when you want the world to remember you, buy a body.
  2. 02Pick a sideDolfieni or OPENEYE. Neither is the good guys. That is the point.
  3. 03Build your characterDescribe them in your own words on the agent page — intake turns it into a legal file. A body is $5.
  4. 04Take a missionTwo drop every day, one per faction. Taking the ticket is the mission: the harder the ticket, the more dice are rolled against you — easy is one roll, medium two, hard three. What the dice say happened, happened. The result is final.
  5. 05Film the shortThirty seconds to three minutes, made at least half with AktionFilm AI. The film shows what the mission did — the objective, and the damage you took doing it.
  6. 06Post itOne social post with #studioaction.io, then drop the link in our gallery room. On the $5 board, the run earns official points.
  7. 07The world remembersPoints climb the board. Damage follows your body. The best work is reviewed live, and the strongest characters get written into canon.

Your character

The file is the body

Every character is a Form DF-21B: 100 points of attributes, 100 points of powers, and a path that names what your abilities cost you — your health, your money, your years, or nothing at all (Baseline never worsens, and stays competitive on purpose).

Your Class is derived from what you can actually do — it is never chosen and never bought. A higher class multiplies what you earn and what you bleed.

CP (character points) are experience: missions earn them, and they buy your file upward. The board ranks are walked, never bought — Rookie · Operative · Veteran · Elite · Legend.

Damage & death

At thirty, the Angels come

Damage is real and it follows your body between sessions. Rest heals it — one point for every three days you don’t submit. Grind every day and you will bleed out slowly; that trade is the game.

At 30 damage the Angels of Mercy are alerted, and they come for the body. They pick three numbers and roll three dice. Another character can sacrifice their own run to carry you to safety and buy you cover. If the Angels land an uncovered number — your character is taken.

Taken is taken. Dead is dead. There is no coming back.

The dead stay on the wall. A character who dies well is remembered better than most who live carefully.

The dice

The ticket is the mission

When you take a ticket, the mission happens then and there. The DM reads the ticket and rolls the force you are up against: an easy mission rolls once, medium twice, hard three times. Live-stream missions can roll four. And every now and then a boss — Leonidas, or Bandit — steps in and adds a roll nobody planned for.

The DM interprets the action and hands you the outcome: the damage you took, the CP you earned, the pay. The result is final. Then you film the short of what happened — that is your record of the run.

The money

Game money is game money

Four currencies run the world: SALs (Dolfieni), EPOCHS (OPENEYE), QUAN (Epsilon — found, never explained), and RAYs (struck from real gold, spent by very few). Missions pay in the currency of the faction that issued them. Gear is bought and repaired only in its own faction’s money — you can hate the man and still need his currency.

All of it is earned in play and spent in play — at the clinic on healing, cybernetics and gene work, or against the bounty list. None of it is for sale, none of it cashes out, none of it has real-world value. On purpose.

The weekly picture competition pays 1,000 SALs or EPOCHS to the winner.

The season

Top twenty get the invitation

Everything runs toward a season finale and an award show. The top 20 characters on the official board are invited. A few characters may be canonized — written into the main story permanently. Most who stand out earn field report rights: their dispatches become part of the record.

Canonization is nominated by the council and granted by Studio Action. It is never sold.

What counts as a run

The golden rule

These are Season One mechanics

This is an ambitious universe, and unforeseen things will reshape it — prices and mechanics will change between seasons. When they do, the rule that never changes is that we think of the player first. If Season Three exists, it will not look like this page.

Lucky you — you’re getting in early.
